Gary Eugene Barnhill

 

Graveside services for Gary Eugene Barnhill age 62 of Sour Lake, Texas were held April 25, 2023 at Guin-Cox Cemetery in Winn Parish under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Services were officiated by Brother Daniel Patton. 

Gary was born July 4, 1960 in Monroe LA to the union of his parents, Johnny Barnhill and Elizabeth Ann Carpenter Barnhill and passed away on April 21, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX after a brief illness.

Gary was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed working all over the USA on pipeline jobs.

Gary was a generous man who enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico looking for lost treasures & enjoyed reading every Louis L'Amour book ever published. He enjoyed watching & critiquing movies. He even starred as an extra in a few.

Gary loved to read the Bible. He enjoyed telling anyone who wanted to know the stories of the Bible and compared them to modern day people. Gary loved his family unconditionally.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Elissa Barnhill.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Barnhill (Alison Dempsey & her son Jackson); his daughter Amber Barron; grandchildren, Zander & Avalon Barron; His special friend and caregiver Ellaina Lee; His siblings: Johnny Barnhill (Carolyn Sue), Edgar Barnhill (Rhonda), Rachel Connor (Randy) and Faye Ainsworth. He was FAVORITE Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
