Gary Wayne Babcock

Funeral services for Gary Babcock will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Olla, La with interment following in Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00. 

Gary Wayne Babcock was born in Columbia, La on December 23, 1950 to the union of his parents, Bobby Babcock and Sue McLeland Babcock and passed from this life on May 16, 2025 at Oschners in New Orleans. Growing up Gary always enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting, and fishing. He was a track star in high school, where him and a couple others held the record for years. Gary also loved football, golf, gambling, horse races, family gatherings, and just sitting on the porch. He was a kind and giving person and will be missed so much. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Essie Babcock; and maternal grandparents, George and Ellie McLeland; and his aunt Linda Babcock.

Those left to cherish nhis memory are his wife, Judy Babcock; son, Gary Babcock Jr.; brother, Allen Babcock (Mary); one granddaughter; and three aunts: Etta Faye Hamilton, Georgia Etheridge Nolan, and Eloise Brossett.

Pallbearers will include Hank Cooksey, Tommy Hemphill, Lynn Duke, Homer Strong, Eddie Coleman, and Jerry Corley. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Barton and Henry Dale Coates.
