On June 28, 2026 Felix Earl Girod, formerly of Hebert, passed away in Knoxville, Tennessee after an extended illness. Felix was a 1975 graduate of Caldwell Parish High School. After graduation Felix worked for Johnny’s pizza for a while. From the time he was about eight years old he loved automobiles. His love for them led him to selling automobiles and later managing automobile service departments in Baton Rouge. He later moved to Jackson, Mississippi where he continued working for automobile dealerships. He later went into real estate working his way up to being a broker. A few years ago he moved to Tennessee. Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Nellie(Tappy) Girod, and a sister-in-law Diane Girod.

Those left to mourn his passing include his brother, Gary Girod of Monroe, his sisters Gwen Meador(Charles) of Hebert, Susan Lachney (Ronnie) of Georgia, and Emile Legg of Monroe. Seven nephews, Charles Meador Jr.(Becky) and Russell Meador, both of Hebert, Todd Girod(Paula) of Bastrop, Chad Girod(Summer) of West Monroe, Damon Girod (Lark) of Monroe, Ryan Lachney of Georgia, and Christopher Legg of West Monroe. He also left behind many friends. As was his desire Felix was cremated and his ashes were buried at Hebert Cemetery.
