Felicia Davis Tarver

On October 31st, a crisp Halloween day in 1979, Felicia Jane Davis Tarver made her grand entrance into the world in the town of Rayne, Louisiana. A spirited soul from the very beginning, Felicia brought warmth, boldness, and "character" to those around her. Sadly on Saturday, May 17, 2025, she left us far too soon at the age of 45, surrounded by family and leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Felicia was a woman of many titles, but her favorite were undoubtedly those of a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and sister. Her life was woven with moments of pure joy and cherished memories, some of which include playing with her granddaughter, four-wheeler rides with her husband, laughing with her son, and sitting at the table reminiscing and talking with her dad. Felician was always happy. in every picture you took she was always smiling. She never complained about anything at all. Even if she wanted to. Even after having open heart surgery on April 29, 2022. Felicia loved playing BINGO with her mother, Mona Davis. She enjoyed talking with her sisters at the kitchen table and getting her nails done. She enjoyed spending loving precious time with all her nieces and nephews, always laughing and joking. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mona Dean Baker Davis.

Felicia is survived by her father, Ivy Dalton Davis, Sr.; devoted husband, Melvin Shannon Tarver, Sr.; son, Melvin "Pookie" Shannon Tarver, Jr. (Jayda); granddaughter, Layla Ivy Tarver; eight siblings: Ivy Dalton Davis, Jr. (Sondra) of Kelly, John Wesley Davis, Sr. (Tasha) of Columbia, Regina Davis Beckley (Dick) of Grayson, Tommy Lane Davis (Stephanie) of Columbia, Willis Jay Davis (Tina) of Columbia, Kenny Shannon Davis (Jessica) of Columbia, Becky Jean Davis Williamson (Ken) of Grayson, and Jon Allen Davis of Kelly. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Felicia will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow at Little Star Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. The family will host visitation at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia  on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5 PM until 8 PM.
