Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Berry Gunn, age 74, of Grayson will be held 1PM Monday May 19, 2008 from the Columbia Heights Baptist Church with the Rev ' .s James Prince and Bruce McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Evelyn Berry Gunn was born August 27, 1933 at Grayson, La. and passed from this life on Friday May 16, 2008 following a brief illness. To the union of her parents Johnny Jefferson Berry and Juanita Dupree Berry were born eight sons and daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her two husbands Raymond Edward Tolbert and Arvil Gunn. She was a retired employee of the Columbia Developmental Center where she served as a Residential Support Specialist giving her all to each and every resident there. She was a member of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church and she was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She leaves behind four children-Dianne Pitre , Denise Perot and husband Steve, and Mary Mills and husband C.A. , all of Columbia, and her son Butch Tolbert of Monroe. Eight Grand children- David Crain and wife Beckie, Amanda Chambers and husband Sammy, and Amber Perot, all of Columbia. Tonya Shipp and husband Roger of Hebert. Will Tolbert, Katelyn Tolbert, and Shannon Tolbert all of Monroe, and Chad Callender & wife Amanda of Grayson. Seven sisters and brothers- Marty Bradford, Dottie Masoner and husband Chuck, Bobbie Gunn and husband Bailey, all of Columbia. Daisy Black and husband Travis, Alvin Berry and wife Evelyn, all of Grayson. Charlene Nutt of Cleveland, Texas, and Chester Berry of Clarks, La. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers including David Crain, Shannon Tolbert, Chad Callender, Will Tolbert, Nick Vincent, and nephew Greg Allen Black. Richard Deville will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The Gunn Family will receive guests on Sunday May 18, 2008 from 4PM to 9PM at the Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Highway 165 South, Columbia, La. Mondays visitation will be from 9AM until 11AM at the funeral home, and from 12 Noon until time of service at the church.
