Eva Mae Whitman

Funeral services for Eva Mae Whitman, age 89 of Urania, LA, will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 27, 2021, at Standard Baptist Church in Olla, La with Bro. Jim McKeithen and Bro. Kent Nugent officiating. Interment will follow at Olla Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home, Olla. Visitation will be Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Standard Baptist Church from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Eva was born July 11, 1932, in Lotus, LA to the union of her parents, James Kile and Laura Wilson Kile. Eva was a member of Standard Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing dominoes, cooking, word puzzles, and sitting on the porch watching the daily traffic. Eva worked at Hardtner Medical Center for many years in housekeeping, she worked for the town of Urania, and she cleaned the First Baptist Church for years. She was well known for babysitting many children throughout her years and enjoyed every minute of it. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Whitman Jr.; an infant daughter; her sisters: Satie Bryant, Janie Girlene Stevison (Arnold), and Marteal Kile; her brothers and sisters-in-law: L.B. Kile (Lois), Howard Kile (Vivian), Harold Kile (Minnie Ola), and Jamesette Kile.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sharon McKay (Rob) of Trout and Gaye McKeithen (Jim) of Urania; her sisters-in-law: Estelle Pitre and Bernell Kile; her grandchildren: Heather Boyd (Heath), Stephen McKeithen, Kristopher McKeithen, and Summer Taylor (Jonathan); great-grandchildren: Hayleigh Boyd, Hadley Boyd, Hunter Boyd, Jaxton Reeves, Graesyn Reeves, and Skyler Taylor; as well as, a host of extended family and the children she's had a hand in helping raise.

Pallbearers include Kris McKeithen, Heath Boyd, Jonathan Taylor, Jason Laird, Casey Kile, and Garrett Kile.
