In Loving Memory of Edwin Lee Jones “Peanut”
June 30, 1974 – August 18, 2026
Edwin Lee Jones, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Peanut,” passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at his brother’s home, with his beloved brother holding his hand. He was 52 years old.
Peanut was diagnosed with pancreatic, liver, lung, and stomach cancer on May 22, 2026. His cancer was aggressive and fast-spreading. Although his time after his diagnosis was much too short, Peanut lived his life to the fullest—full throttle—just as those who knew and loved him will always remember.
Peanut was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors, but he especially loved duck hunting with his brother and his Uncle Joe Paul. The days spent together hunting, laughing, and making memories will forever be treasured by those who shared them with him.
Peanut loved his only brother deeply, and the bond they shared was truly special. His family and friends will forever cherish the wonderful times they shared with him—the laughter, stories, adventures, and memories that can never be taken away.
Preceded in Death
Peanut was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Bebe Jones; his mother, Theresa Caldwell; his father, Charles “Bobo” Jones; his grandparents, Donnie Joe and Lucy Caldwell; his great-grandmother, Carrie Dortch Caldwell; and his aunt, Donnie Fay Caldwell.
Peanut did surrender his life to our Heavenly Father, and we find comfort in knowing that he is now in His presence and reunited with the family members who preceded him in death. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is now at peace with his Heavenly Father.
Left to Cherish his Memory
Peanut leaves behind his beloved brother, Donnie and wife, Laura, and his children, Salina Hill and Lil Peggy Jones, who will forever carry his love and memory in their hearts.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Sadie, Braydon, Sophie, Branson, Gabbie, Camille, and Jeremiah.
He is also survived by his uncles, Joe Paul Caldwell and Calvin “Bobo” Coates; his aunts, Judy Caldwell and Peggy Bishop; along with a tremendous amount of cousins, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by Peanut.
Peanut was one of a kind. Those who knew him knew that he lived life full throttle, loved deeply, and made memories that will last a lifetime.
We will all treasure and remember the wonderful times together. The laughter, stories, adventures, and memories we shared with Peanut will remain in our hearts forever.
The family is honoring Peanut’s wishes, and he will be cremated. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced by the family.
We love you, Peanut, and we will meet you in Heaven.
You will be greatly missed, but loved by all—forever.
Rest easy, Peanut.
Until we meet again in Heaven.
