Dorothy Kay Robertson Gordy

Funeral services for Dorothy Kay Robertson Gordy, age 73 of Monroe will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with  Bro. Bill Goss officiating. Bro. Shane Nugent will deliver the graveside committal service at Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM on Wednesday until 1:00 PM. at the funeral home.

Dorothy Kay Robertson Gordy was born on March 3, 1952 at Rayville, LA to the union of her parents the late, Oscar O. Robertson  and Willie Mae  Robertson Powell, and she passed from this life on July 4, 2025 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness. 

Dorothy was a beauty operator in Monroe for over forty years. She loved and appreciated all of her customers.  Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her Family was the true light in her life. She loved to vacation and travel every chance she got.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of forty-three years, Timmy Gordy of Monroe; her sons: John Anderson  (Stacey) of Jena and Tony Anderson (Maggie) of Ball, LA, Tim Gordy (Gunes) of Healdtburg, California, Tom Gordy (Theresa) of Nokesville, Virginia,  and Terry Gordy (Heather) of Shreveport; her brother: Ray Robertson (Louise) of Swartz and Pat Genung of Memphis, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren  and six great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Walker Anderson, Blake Anderson, Reed Gordy, Graham Gordy, Stacey Robertson, Stephen Genung and Tim Gordy.
