Funeral services for Mr. Doris Gerald "D.G." Burrow, age 83 of Columbia, will be 10 AM Thursday, November 12, 2009 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Paul Pearson officiating and Elgin McFadden delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Burrow was born in Columbia County, AR to the union of Jessie and Geneva Spencer Burrow and passed from this life at his residence in Columbia. D.G. owned and managed a country & western group known as The Western Melodies in Austin for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Freddie Burrow and two brothers: J.W. Burrow and Billy Gene Burrow. Survivors include his son; Gerald Wayne Burrow, two daughters: Doris Ann Burrow and Linda Burrow of Austin, TX, sister; Bettye Boggan and her husband, Jasper of Columbia, three nieces and four nephews and dear friend; Benny Ray Cruse. Pallbearers will be Jerry Meredith, Lynn Meredith, Tommy Parker, Greg Wilbanks, Gary Watts and Benny Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Ray Cruse, Jasper Boggan, James Fuller, Jack Boggan, A.J. Douglas and Doug Brown.
