Dixie was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on February 9, 1956, to the union of her parents, Lloyd Charles Dodd, Sr. and Bobbie Ann Morris Dodd, and she passed from this life on June 3, 2022, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Dixie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She worked as a nurse for many years until her health forced her into an early retirement. She lived and loved life to the fullest. Despite her many limitations, she found ways to stay involved with all of her family and friends. Dixie was a devoted Christian and if she couldn't attend church services she would watch it on Facebook Live and she kept her bible at her bedside. She loved to collect an array of antiques, enjoyed music, gathering with family, traveling, and loved watching the birds and squirrels out of her bedroom window. Dixie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Charles Dodd, Sr. and Bobbie Ann Morris Dodd.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Kenneth Paul Durastanti, Sr. (Her "Rock" as she would say.); her son, Kenneth Paul Durastanti, Jr.; her daughters: Alicia Warren (Steven) and Vanessa Jenkins (Brandon); her brother, Lloyd Charles Dodd, Jr. (Cindy); her sisters: Vickie Dodd and Paula Simmons (Lee); her sister-in-law, Susan Harris; her grandchildren: Zack Warren (Lindsay), Ashley Warren, Emma Durastanti, Garrett Jenkins, Stella Grace Durastanti, and Kennth Paul Durastanti III; one great-grandchild, Kenton Warren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Warren, Zack Warren, Brandon Jenkins, Bill Brown, Joe Macek, Brad Magee, Ray Atwell, and James Ford. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Allbritton and Darrel Wilson.
