Debra Elaine Word

Debra Elaine Word, age 64 of Hebert was born on October 20, 1957 at Bastrop, LA to the union of her parents , Mr. & Mrs. Edward Hicks. She passed from this life on May 13, 2022 at her residence in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her daughter, Danniel Baker and her son Johnny Hicks.

Debra loved living on the lake at Cat Island, Hebert, LA. She enjoyed the time she had for fishing. She was an animal lover  and loved her dogs, Rosie, Tiny, Baby Girl, Snapper, T.J. and Brunno.

She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Word, Jr, her son, Phillip Word, III; two brothers: Ronnie Hicks of Bastrop and Jerry Hicks of El Paso, Texas; and her four precious grandchildren; Chasity Baker, Dalanna Poole, Dalton Poole and David Baker.

The Word Family will host visitation at Riser & Son Funeral Home in Columbia on Tuesday, May 17 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a memorial service to be held at a later time.
