David James Hillman, Sr.

A memorial service for David James Hillman Sr will be held at Grayson Baptist Church in Grayson, LA on May 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. visitation & service to follow at 4:00 PM.

David James Hillman Sr. was born September 28,1948 in New Orleans, LA. He entered eternal rest on April 29,2026 in Bernice, LA. He is preceded in death by his wife of 23 years Phyllis Graham Hillman, son Josh Hillman, his parents & two brothers.

David was a beloved member of the community, a great friend to many & a member of Grayson Baptist Church. His proudest accomplishment was his 50+ year career teaching math with 48 years of that career at Caldwell Parish High School. By the time he retired, he had taught third generation students. His students were his pride & joy and the impact on their lives will be his legacy.

David is survived by his daughter Heather Durrett & husband Tommy of Bernice, LA, son David Hillman Jr & wife Sharon of Seminary, MS, daughter Madison Hatten & husband Dustin of Columbia, LA, stepdaughter Jennifer Williams & husband Jeff, stepson Bill Baldridge & wife Jennifer. Grandchildren Tommy Durrett III (Kelsey), Taylor Durrett (Samantha), Shelby Hester (Chase), Haylee Hillman (Eli), Joshua Hillman, Landry & Ridge Hatten, Graham Humphries (Riley) & Gabe Baldridge. Great grandchildren: Hadlee & Lincoln Durrett, Jax, Jentry & Jett Durrett, John Kreed, Aubrey & Livi Hester & Landrie Humphries.
