Clifton Dale Esters

Funeral services for Clifton Dale Esters, age 64 of Kelly, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2021, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chickasaw Cemetery at Olla. The Esters family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the funeral home in Columbia from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Clifton Dale Esters was born on April 24, 1957, in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Homer Esters and Evelyn Inez Sanders Esters, and he passed from this life on August 12, 2021, at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Dale graduated from Caldwell Parish High School and then furthered his education with an Associate in Accounting degree from Louisiana Business College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from ULM. Before retiring, he worked throughout his life as a cook and cashier at various convenience stores where he loved talking to everyone. He had a passion for drawing, painting, fishing, riding around visiting friends, growing plants, and gardening. Dale volunteered at the Council on Aging and the Schepis Museum in his spare time. He was always doing anything he could to help out with the exhibits and any programs or fundraisers being held at the Schepis. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Kenneth and Bennie Esters; paternal grandparents: Elige Esters and Mellie Arthurs Esters and his maternal grandparents: Bennie Sanders and Edna Marsh Sanders.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers: Larry Esters (Kathy) and Ricky Esters; his sisters: Carolyn Coan and Deborah Esters Burrows (Ray), and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations be made to Riser Funeral Home, PO Box 57, Columbia, LA 71418, to help defray funeral expenses.
