Charles Edwin Smith

Funeral services for Charles Edwin Smith, age 55 of Grayson, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from the Columbia chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Farrar officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. The Smith family will host visitation on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Charles Edwin Smith was born on August 30, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the union of his parents, James Edward Smith and Barbara Sue Wise Smith, and he passed from this life on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Ernest Frank Smith; and sister, Barbara Ann Watts.

Charles was Maintenance Foreman with the Caldwell Parish School Board. He was an avid hunter and loved to BBQ for his family. He was a wonderful loving husband, son and brother. He was known for his hard work ethic and was loved by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Merrick Weston Smith of Grayson; his mother, Barbara Smith of Columbia; and his brother, James Smith and wife, Angela of Monroe.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Nelson, Donald Martinez, Calvin Wooten, James Wells, Hunter Wise, and Roy Wise. Honorary pallbearers include Don Gregory, Ricky Ratcliff, and Ronnie May.
