Charles Harrison "C. H." Boyd

Funeral services for C.H. Boyd will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 21, 2024, at Pinehill Baptist Church, Olla, Louisiana, with Bro. Ed Smith officiating and Bro. Mike McCartney offering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Fellowship Cemetery, Columbia, Louisiana, with Bro. Cory Fowler officiating. The family will have visitation at Pinehill Baptist Church on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 5 PM until 8 PM. All arrangements are under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, Louisiana. 

Charles Harrison Boyd was born on September 24, 1948, in Columbia, Louisiana, to the union of his parents, Joseph Thomas Boyd Jr. and Emma Vernice Kilby Boyd. He passed from this life to his heavenly home on October 17, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. C.H. was an active member of Pinehill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He worked at Mac's Fresh Market for over 30 years as a butcher in the meat market. He was a quiet humble man who left no doubt about his love for Jesus through his words and actions. He and his wife Debra were Cottage Parents at the LA Baptist Children's Home for four years where they loved, parented, and mentored many children. He showed the love of Christ through his actions by helping widows and the elderly with yard work and repairs when they needed assistance. He did these things seeking no recognition of praise for himself but in Christian service to others. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be greatly missed. C.H. was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: John Thomas Boyd, David Boyd, and Jody Boyd; and sisters, Frances Boyd and Sybil Strickland.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Debra Claunch Boyd; son, Heath Boyd (Heather); daughter, Faith Smith (Steven); brother, Troy Boyd (Marie); sister-in-law, Elvia Boyd; grandchildren: Hayleigh Boyd, Hadley Boyd, Hunter Boyd, Logan Smith, and Ian Smith; special friend, Maria Gowan; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Boyd, Michael Boyd, Joey Boyd, Brandon Boyd, Jimmy Boyd, and Angelo Benandi. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Boyd, Logan Smith, Ian Smith, Mason Dulaney, and Troy Boyd, Jr.
