Carolyn Black Antley

May 21, 1945 — June 15, 2025

Funeral services for Carolyn Louise Black Antley, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating and Bro. Jim McKeithen assisting. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery, Cotton Plant, LA. The family will have a visitation prior to the service on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Carolyn Louise Black Antley was born May 21, 1945, in Columbia, LA, to the union of her parents, Luther and Mable Black. She passed from this life June 15, 2025, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn worked for many years in the cafeteria at Columbia Elementary School having made her passion for cooking her life's work. She also loved to cook for family and friends and her meals were a treat for everyone who had the pleasure of eating them. She also enjoyed sewing. Her greatest love was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and their growing families. 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Antley; her brother and sister, Howard Black and Earline Evans; infant son, Charles Glenn Antley; her sons-in-law, James McKeithen, Sr. and Bert Gaskill; and her beloved fur baby of 18 years, Payton.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Carol McKeithen, Michelle Gaskill, and Chad Antley (Angela); sister, Beth Mason; grandchildren: Ashlie McKee (Chris), James McKeithen Jr., Brittany King (Jay), Amber Graham, Megan Graham (Jacob), Emily Cotherman (Jason), Zach Jones (Kailee), Victoria West, Spencer Antley (Ashley York), and Landon Antley; as well as, 6 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be James McKeithen Jr., Chris McKee, Jay King, Jacob Beard, Jason Cotherman, Tyler McKee, and Spencer Antley. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and to Dr. Mark Operario for the love, care and compassion shown to Carolyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Riser Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
