Billy Joe Taylor

Funeral services for Billy Joe Taylor, age 84, of Olla, will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 8, 2025, from the Olla Chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. John Norwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery at Olla. The Taylor Family will receive visitors on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Billy Joe Taylor was born on September 9, 1940, in La Salle Parish to the union of his parents, the late Jonie Taylor and Linnie Killins and passed from this life on June 2, 2025, at his residence in Olla following an extended illness.

Mr. Taylor served the United States in the Marines and served twenty-one years and retired with rank of Sergeant.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Linda Taylor; three daughters: Caren Jones, Teresa Braig and Deborah Burroughs; his brother, Randy Drake; half-sister, Cheryl Black; nephew, Bouie Taylor and wife, Wendy Taylor; his grandchildren: Dannen Poole and wife Kaci Poole, Jeremy Hosea, Dawson Jones and his wife Maggie Jones., Patrick Shipley, Mindy McKee and husband Mike McKee, Jamie Porter and husband Philip Porter, Tiffany Chevallier and Taya Chevallier; great-grandchildren: Rane McKee and Lyla McKee; and a host of nieces and nephews, too many to list.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dawson Jones, Chad Poole, Chase Brown, Tom Negler, Bouie Taylor and Dennis Carraway.
