Billy Ray Poole

Funeral services for Billy Poole will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Cornerstone Apostolic Church in Summerville, La with Bro. Daniel McClure officiating and Bro. Jonathan Ashley assisting with interment following in Squires Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00. 

Billy Ray Poole was born October 26, 1938 in Summerville, La to the union of his parents, Ernest Poole and Lena Roark Poole and passed from this life at his residence on February 8, 2024. Billy loved his family and he was their fearless protector. He was proud of his grandchildren and doted on them every chance he got. Billy was a devoted husband to his wife, Juanice for sixty-three years and is rejoicing in her arms again. Billy worked as a logger until his accident, then he started working for the Forestry department where eventually retired. He was a good man, hardheaded and stubborn when need be. Billy enjoyed drinking coffee but nothing compared to his garden. He loved his garden and could plant and grow whatever he wanted. He plowed over anything to keep them taters, greens, and cabbage in there. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanice; his son, Ronald "Bubby" Poole; his brothers: Bo Poole, Enoch Poole, Bennie Poole, Clifford Poole, Buddy Poole; his sisters: Nelda Mitcham, Kay Wells, Ineta Brodnax; granddaughter,Kendall Ann Montpelier; and a son-in-law, Elvis Montpelier. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Retta Pritchard(Chuck), Rita Montpelier(Shelby), Rhonda Montpelier(Gary); daughter-in-love, Amy P. Pardue(Jimbo); grandchildren: Jeremy Montpelier, Adam Montpelier(Terry), Tyler Montpelier, Ethan Montpelier, Caleb Pritchard, Sydney Spinks(Samuel), Anna Spence(Luke); great-grandchildren: Parker Montpelier, Thea Montpelier, Landon Spinks, Logan Spinks; his sisters: Beth Coleman(Roy), Jakki Richardson(Donny), Sissy Beckley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Adam Montpelier, Luke Spence, Samuel Spinks, Tyler Montpelier, Caleb Pritchard, and Jared Richardson. Honorary pallbearers include Jeremy Montpelier, Ethan Montpelier, Bobby Poole, Peanut Coleman, Dick Zeagler, Daryl Floyd, Jonathan Ashley, Ricky Ashley, Eddie Coolman, Bradley Poole, and Tim Poole.
