Billy was born September 4, 1961, in Columbia, LA, to the union of his parents, James Earnest Lisenby and Maggie Elizabeth Lee Lisenby, and he passed from this life April 3, 2023, in Monroe, LA. Billy left this life, to enter a new one where there would be no pain or sickness, surrounded by family in a circle of prayer.
Billy Lisenby was a fighter, in every sense of the word, and somewhat of an outlaw. His family joked that he was a game warden's nightmare. He loved to hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle, and make money. He enjoyed getting away for a few days to go camping with Tina and the brothers (his built-in best friends.) He especially loved riding around after a good rain to check out the high water at Castor or survey all the storm damage in town. He was an amazing father. Whether you called him Daddy or Big Bill, it didn't matter to him. He loved all five of his children the same. He would fight for them boys and love them girls. He was a hero to his grandchildren, teaching Collin how to kill and skin deer and teaching Shelby how to not get caught hunting deer at night. As his grandson said, "he was loved by all and whooped by none." Billy was preceded in death by his parents; children, Cindy Eubanks and Billy Eubanks; sister, Pam Grant; and grandchildren, Haylen and Kalyn Douglas.
Those left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his life partner, Tina Lloyd; his sons, Cody Lisenby and Connor Lisenby; his daughter, Brandy Douglas (Jerrod); brothers: Joey Lisenby (Dana), Johnny Lisenby (Vicki), Jeffrey Lisenby, and Jackie Lisenby (Ginger); and grandchildren: Collin and Shelby Douglas and Aleigha Lisenby.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Sharp, Billy Wilson, Wayne Scott, Ashley Mitchell, Little Joey Lisenby, and Billy Tatum. Honorary pallbearers are Collin Douglas, Lyndell Shell, Preston Matthews, and Lonnie Thompson.
