Celebrating the Life and Memory of Betty Jo Jordan

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM  on Saturday January 10, 2026 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Linda Miller, Mrs. Linda Washington and Pastor Joseph Williams. The Jordan Family will receive guest on Friday January 9, 2026 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  

Betty Jordan was born on January 29, 1954 in  Columbia, Louisiana to Herman Jordan SR and Ann Williams Jordan , who preceded her in death. Betty affectionately known as "Sister", " Pie Pie " and " B J"  was a part of the first integrated class to graduate from Caldwell Parish High School in 1972.  Betty was a member of the staff at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for over forty years where she remained until retirement in December 2025. She was a highly loved, respected, and valued employee and often referred to as "The Sheriff" of the hospital. Betty was one of the employees with the longest tenure and often liked to " run things " for everyone.

Betty leaves behind to cherish a life time full of memories, two daughters: Antrenita "Screamie" Johnson of Dallas, Texas  and Katia " Piggy" Jordan of Baton Rouge;  two sisters: Juanita Jordan of Columbia and Bobbie Morgan of Monroe. She is preceded in death by her brother, Herman Jordan, JR  "Bubba" and Ora Jordan Barnes. Two grandsons who she raised  and loved as her own, Jakedrian " Charlie" Jordan and Jalian  "Pumpkin" Jordan both of Columbia. Three granddaughters: Morgan "Magpie" Johnson of Dallas , Texas; Okia Collins and Takia  Williams of Baton Rouge, LA. One great-granddaughter: Ava Marie Jordan, Columbia, LA; two nephews: Ernest Morgan, JR and Edwin Morgan of Columbia, LA and a host of family, friends, and coworkers.

The Jordan Family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mark Operario and the staff of the Winters Clinic and Caldwell Memorial Hospital for the love extended to our mother and their dedicated co-worker.

Honorary pallbearers include: Ernest Morgan, JR; Edwin Morgan, Lee Andrew Walker, Danny Walker, Benny Barnes and Willie Smith, JR.
