Annie Louise Birdwell Peppers was born January 30, 1944, in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Percy and Annie Birdwell, and she passed from this life March 31, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Bennie Banes and Ralph Peppers; son, Jerry Banes; daughter, Angel Hawkins; and brother, Johnny Birdwell. Ann, as she was known, loved God and her family. She watched worship services on television every Sunday and her family knew her faith was strong. Her family was her life. She not only took care of and raised her own children, but she took care of their children too. Her home was always full of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for her family. They remember her cathead biscuits and gravy as the best. Not only were they delicious, but whenever they found out she was cooking them, they poured into her house to visit and eat together. This was what made her happy, having her family around her. She especially loved having everyone come to her house for the holidays.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Carl Banes (Della), Wayne Banes (Gwenee), Ben Banes (Renee), and Misty Peppers Bratton (Bennie); brother, Bud Birdwell (Angie); sister, Shirley Birdwell; grandchildren: Joseph Trussell, Jerry Lyn Hess, Benji Banes, Brianna Banes, Nathan Joy, Brandon Bratton, Tim Taylor, Jaila Hawkins, Jabari Hawkins, Logan Banes (Laila), Chasity Laszlo (Steven), Zach Banes (Emma), Kara Banes, and Meadow Banes; great-grandchildren: Serenity, Jazmyn, Caleb and Mattie Trussell, Hadley, Dalton and Jason Hess, Emily Holland, Noah Prather, Hanna, Julius, Uriyah, Hayden, Solomon, Nova, and Hallie Jo Banes, and Draven and Kaden Laszlo.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Laszlo, Timothy Taylor, Kaden Laszlo, Draven Laszlo, Logan Banes, and Cody Savoy. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Bratton and Jabari Hawkins.
