Funeral services for Mr. Alphonse "Al" Davis, age 73 of Columbia, will be 2PM Friday, August 28, 2009 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Larry Russell and Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Bayou Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon at the funeral home from 3PM to 9PM. Mr. Davis was born as a triplet of two other brothers on April 4, 1936 in Lake Village, AR to the union of Roland Daniel and Florence Johnson Davis and passed from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was a member of Sandy Bayou Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Albert Davis, R.D. Davis, Paul Davis and Richard Davis, brother-in-law; Segrest McDaniel, sister-in-law; Joyce Davis and father-in-law; Alvin Richmond. Survivors include his wife of 50 years; JoAnn Richmond Davis of Columbia, son, Al "Danny" Davis, Jr. of Grayson, two daughters: Linda Lou Davis of Grayson and Connie Ann Davis of Frierson, LA, beloved pet; George Davis, grandchildren: Mack Edward Bellmore, III, Crystal JoAnn Bellmore, Brandon Lee Bellmore, Dustin Mitchell Bellmore all of Frierson, LA, two great-grandchildren: Joey Bellmore of Hebert and Sebastian Bellmore of Frierson, two sisters; Louise Oglesbee Thomas and husband, Claude of Oak Grove and Juanita Davis McDaniel of West Monroe, brother; Alfred Davis and wife, Joan of Midland, TX, mother-in-law; Bonnie Richmond of Columbia, sisters-in-law; Stella Davis of West Monroe, Judy Davis of Grayson, Della Davis of West Monroe, Joy Davis of Columbia, Susie Lapham and husband, Butch of Clarks and Mary Strange and husband, Charlie of Grayson, brothers-in-law; Willard Richmond of Columbia, Johnny Richmond of Hebert and Bobby Richmond and wife, Wendy of Kelly and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Mack Bellmore, III, Brandon Bellmore, Johnny Lutrick, Michael Perot, Larry Sikes, Bobby Purvis, Willie Smith, III, and Bobby Richmond. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Wheeler, Chris McKee, Breck Lapham, Scotty Lapham, Barney Fleming, Richard "Bubba" Davis, Scooter Ruddell, Dustin Bellmore, Danny Hall and Johnny Richmond.
